Learning to sing.....
I have found myself in a place I have never been before and it's come with quite the learning curve. I had to overcome a pretty intense respiratory battle in April that put me in the hospital. I have had to take a ton of different meds and steroid inhalers as well as using a nebulizer regularly until this past week. All that took a huge tole on me vocally. It in fact stripped my vocals completely and for the last seven months I have been unable to sing and at times unable to speak. Since singing is something I've been able to naturally and easily do since I was little, I had no idea how much I had taken that incredible gift for granted. So now I am getting my voice back but it's a little different to maneuver now. So I'm actually having to relearn how to sing (or maybe learning for the first time since it's not something I ever learned how to do in the first place it just was). Instead of the smooth easy voice I'm used to (I can still get to that place but it's work now, it doesn't come as easily) I now have an edge. I have to punch from my gut to get the notes out. Before I just opened my mouth and it was as easy as breathing. Now I have to do everything right and occasionally I will still go to hit a note and nothing but air will come out but it's getting better everyday. My hubby loves it because he says now I will sing more rock and less lullabye LOL! But I'm a singer/songwriter it's what I do and it's who I am. That said, I for sure can play around a little more vocally than I could before. So I will keep you posted on the progress and hopefully release a new single at the end of all this and you can be the judge (since I'm always my own worst critic you can't do worse to me than I can do to myself) lol.
Thank you again for your continued support!
